One of us is from Taiwan, one from Germany – and somehow life decided that the two of us should meet in Beijing in 2019, move to Shanghai together and now get married in the Black Forest.
Over the past years we’ve been lucky to create a little world of friends and family across many places. It means a lot to us that for this weekend, people will travel from Taiwan, Germany, China, the US, Italy, Romania and Russia to be in one place.
We’re very much looking forward to celebrating with all of you.
From 17:00 onwards we will be at Palm Springs Lodge to welcome you. Arrive whenever it works for you, find your room, grab a drink and ease into the weekend.
Saturday is the big day. The ceremony and celebration will all take place at the lodge. We’ll share detailed times closer to the date, but please plan for a full day and evening together – there will be food, music and plenty of time to talk.
On Sunday morning we’ll have breakfast together before everyone continues their journey or starts their holiday. No rush – just one last coffee (or two) before we say goodbye.
Palm Springs Lodge is a traditional Black Forest house on a hill above Bad Peterstal-Griesbach – surrounded by meadows, forest and hiking paths.
The house has space for all of us to stay together, eat together and celebrate without needing to drive anywhere afterwards.
Address: Palm Springs Lodge, 77740 Bad Peterstal-Griesbach, Germany
Most international guests will arrive at Frankfurt Airport (FRA). From there it’s quite simple: you can either rent a car or take the train to Offenburg – and from Offenburg we’ll help you with the last part to Palm Springs Lodge.
Frankfurt → Offenburg → Palm Springs Lodge in the Black Forest.
Since many of you are coming a long way, we warmly recommend turning the wedding into a short holiday. All travel times below are approximate and start from Offenburg.
Strasbourg is just across the border in France – canals, half-timbered houses and lots of good food. By car it’s about 40 minutes, by train around 30–40 minutes.
From Strasbourg you can catch a high-speed train directly to Paris in about 2 hours. Driving to Paris from Offenburg / Strasbourg takes roughly 5–6 hours.
Heading south you can reach Switzerland – for example Zurich or Lucerne, with lakes and mountains all around. By car it’s about 2.5–3 hours.
Trains via Basel to Zurich or Lucerne take roughly 3–4 hours depending on connections. Great if you want a mix of city and nature.
Munich is a classic city trip: beer gardens, old town, museums. By car it’s around 3.5–4 hours; by train via Karlsruhe or Stuttgart around 3–4 hours.
From Munich you can continue by train to Salzburg in about 1.5–2 hours, and to Vienna in roughly 4 hours. Perfect if you want to see a bit more of Central Europe.
If you prefer to stay close, there are many lovely places nearby: Freiburg, Baden-Baden, the waterfalls around Triberg or the lakes Titisee and Mummelsee.
Most of these are within 1–2 hours by car or train from the Offenburg / Black Forest area and make easy day trips.
Lake Constance is a large lake shared by Germany, Austria and Switzerland – with boats, islands, vineyards and pretty lakeside towns.
Depending on where you go (e.g. Konstanz, Meersburg), it’s roughly 2.5–3 hours by car and around 3–4 hours by train with one or two changes.
Europa-Park is the largest theme park in Europe and a lot of fun for both kids and grown-ups: roller coasters, themed areas for many European countries and plenty of shows.
It’s very close – about 30 minutes by car from Offenburg, or around 25–30 minutes by train to the Europa-Park / Ringsheim station plus a short shuttle.
Please let us know if you can join us, and help us plan the rooms and meals.
